I don’t claim to know the secrets of life or existence, but what I do know is that everything is much bigger than it seems.

About B2G Nation
My name is Phil, and I am an unconventional guy.
What is the Beast?
The Beast is aggression, the Beast is strength, the Beast is power and violence. The Beast represents everything that we are conditioned to reject in society. We sometimes reject this with the hope of being “modest” or “fair.” But while we sometimes try to contain it, we all have an inner warrior that defines half of our personality.
What is the Green?
The Green is our zen, our passion, our openness, our tenderness. That being said, the Green represents everything we are conditioned to fear in society, the fear of being called a hippie, or a pussy, or worse: “feminine.” We all have a place of inner zen that defines the other half of our personality.
We are conditioned to reject the Beast and fear the Green, turning us into mindless drones. But the two are fundamental to who we are, and tapping into them, instead of denying them, will enhance our human potential.
Still with me? Good.
The Beast and the Green are yin and yang: we can’t have one without the other. Otherwise, how we behave will be thrown off balance. Though existing separately, the two are not separate entities. They influence each other, and we need both to conquer whatever life throws at us.
It becomes especially important, where physical activity is concerned, to be able to discern when to use one and not the other. Making a poor judgment call, channeling the Beast when really the Green is needed, will necessarily result in poor performance.
For me, the Beast is lifting.
When I am on the platform, all my strength, power, violence, everything I learned to channel through my training, have all led to the lift: the one singular moment of primal glory. We channel the Beast whenever we stand up with a PR over our heads in weightlifting, or when we’re first across the line in a CrossFit competition. We channel the Beast whenever we beat down the wimp we were yesterday.
For me, the Green is golf.
When I am on the tee box, making a crisp, perfect connection between myself, the ground, the air, my grip, my club, my past, my future, my moment, and finally the ball require a kind of peace and oneness and wholeness. These must be in perfect harmony for my golf swing to come together. If I fail to execute a good swing, I know something was out of sync. The flow was obstructed. Usually, this happens in our minds.
For me, the platform and the tee box are the same. But different. But again, exactly the same. One just requires tapping into a slightly different energy.
In the end, this website is about human performance, specifically, in competition — although not just in the formal sense. For me, competition refers to any instance in life where we have to focus our efforts and our energies in order to overcome.
I am grateful that you have decided to take your first step on this journey, one that guarantees you will dominate every platform or tee box you step onto in this life.
